Memorial Day Weekend 2012

What a wonderful weekend! First of all, let me  update a bit from my last post. Baby B had a doctor's appointment and ended up having an ear infection. The ear infection led to antibiotics. The antibiotics led to tummy troubles. The tummy troubles led to a HORRIBLE diaper rash. All of that equals a SAD little boy... and a sad mommy and daddy, too. LUCKILY, we are over all of that now! Wow! Now, on to our great weekend!

Bennett has been FULL of new tricks and learning new things this week. Here he is enjoying a popcicle with Daddy. :)

Bennett likes to be in control. I have NO idea where he got that from! We are having a hard time getting him to sit still long enough to eat solids. He only wants to eat things he can feed himself. Here he is eating some watermelon... by himself. He LOVES watermelon. He also loves Puffs, Yogurt bites, steamed cubed sweet potatoes and bites of people food.

This is the precursor to him pulling up on everything. He gets to his knees and tries to stand! What a big boy!

So... Bennett's grandma and granddaddy pulled the walker out of their attic for Bennett to use at their house. He LOVES it. We decided to bring it to our house to see how it worked. It was GREAT. Bennett could follow me around as I was cleaning and get ready. He loved it too. Check him out!

So you remember the earlier picture of him on his knees??? Well, I walked in one afternoon after B's nap and this is what I found. Bennett has started pulling up on EVERYTHING!  Doesn't he look happy about it!?

My parents had a cookout to celebrate the Memorial Day weekend. Bennett loved seeing everyone and being the center of attention! Here are a few pictures of the festivities!

Since Bennett loved the walker at our house so much, we decided to go buy one. Here he is in his new ride!

Sundays in the summer consist of church, lunch at my granddaddy's, and pool... in that order. Bennett knocked out before we even got out to the pool!

He finally woke up to do a little splashing around. This was the first time the big pool was warm enough for us to try out! Here he is splashing with grandma!

 On Monday, we went to McCormick where Jonathan's parents were camping.  Here is Bennett with Papa G.

After a little rain storm, we went into the camper to stay dry. Bennett discovered some treats! Here is big boy diving in to check them out!

                            

We had a great time but Bennett was EXHAUSTED! Tonight when I gave him a bath, out of four of his bath toys, he favored the duck.... again. He wanted to get it out of the tub and take it with him. He wouldn't put it down, even for his nightly bottle.... or even to go to sleep. I guess there are worse things for a kid to be attached to! Here he is sleeping away... with the duck. The boy is becoming attached :)
