Last week we went camping in Cherokee, NC. It was a lot of fun... even for me. I was a bit apprehensive because vacations with a toddler can be totally unpredictable but he did great! Before we left, however, this boy was a mess... and his usual hilarious self.
He couldn't find his gloves so his socks became gloves. Also... notice the crocheted hat. Bless.
Jonathan had some old pads and a helmet in the building. Bennett put this on while we were getting the camper ready. Look out Wildcats...
Last Wednesday, before lunch, we headed to the mountains. He actually napped when we needed him to during the nearly 5 hour ride. He did great. We got the camper all set up and headed to the river to check it out. Of course, we had to take a selfie.
He and Gram had to take a picture too.
After checking out the river, he needed a snack.
And we headed BACK to the water. :)
Getting a lift from Papa G.
On Thursday, we drove about two hours to Dollywood. There was so much to see.
We rode on a steam train. B loved this!
Ugh! I love these two!
Bennett didn't want to ride anything else... he had the most fun in the stroller. Thank goodness they had these for rent!
That night, we rode bikes and cooked some hamburgers and hot dogs.
On Friday, we went to hike Mingo Falls. It was SO pretty. It was quite a way up the mountain but B walked every step.
Oh... we had to take a little potty break.
After our hike, we had a picnic. B loves to eat outside.
When we got back to the camper, Adam and Brandy came to visit. They are some of our best friends... I have been friends with Adam since KINDERGARTEN! :) They even brought stuff to make sand pudding with B. He loved helping!
On Saturday, we went into Cherokee to check things out. Bennett had already spotted the mechanical bull during one of our rides through town. Here he is conquering the bull, Black Betty.
A selfie with my honey!
We stopped for some ice cream...
and went to see the dancing bears.
We even saw some goats.
Here is B checking out the Indian.
The Goffs- Cherokee 2014
Bennett, as always, says the most hilarious things. There were two that really stand out. Late one night, we were all around the campfire talking. Jonathan's daddy said something about the Dixie Stampede. Bennett replied, "No. Papa. No say 'peed'. Say tee tee!" It was hilarious! Later, Brandy and I were solving all the educational problems of the world and I said that people without an educational degree should just butt out. Bennett pipes up and says, "No say butt! Say hiney!"
