WARNING: This post is PHOTO OVERLOAD! You have been warned!
Our Easter festivities began last weekend and will continue through this coming weekend. I love springtime and I love Easter, especially what Easter really means. Even though Bennett is small, I have read to him some children's books about Easter. He doesn't understand any of it yet but the Christmas and Easter story are two of the greatest stories... and the MOST important stories he will ever hear. Leading up to Easter Sunday, we attended two Easter Egg Hunts. The first Easter Egg hunt was at the church where I grew up. It was inside because it was rainy and nasty but Bennett still had a great time. Here he is on the giant slide with Grandma. He even went down twice by himself!
Taking a break from all the fun for a picture.

One of the little girls there brought her baby doll stroller. Bennett pushed it around for a bit!
Here is our little monkey jumping in the bouncy castle. This was a hit. We will be getting one for his next birthday party!
Mommy and B. This was about the time he figured out that the eggs had actual candy in them. The ones we were practicing with at home were empty! :)
My baby was worn out after all the fun and fell asleep before we were out of the parking lot! Mama and I went to run a few errands and he slept the entire time. When we got home though...
He was ready to open some more eggs and eat his goodies. This boy loves some candy!
After emptying all of his eggs, Bennett, Jonathan, and I dyed some Easter Eggs for the first time. Here is our sweet boy dying eggs. He didn't really understand that they were fragile... and not balls. He wanted to throw them... and squeeze them really hard :)
Our Finished Product :)
On Easter weekend, our church had an Egg Hunt. It was estimated that there were 10,000 eggs. Wow. Bennett picked up a few but just wanted to run around :) Here are Bennett and his friend Warren taking a break for a picture.

On Saturday night, the Easter Bunny came to see Bennett. The Easter Bunny brought Bennett a picnic table, a new cup, plate, and bowl, some bubbles, a new sippee cup, a bubble gun, sidewalk chalk, and some books about using nice manners. His most important gift was Resurrection Eggs. This year, Bennett was too young to understand them but next year, I will share these with him. They are awesome and explain the Easter story with items in the eggs. There is a crown of thorns, a donkey, a leather whip, a white piece of cloth, etc. to tell the story. I plan on using them like we do the advent calendar at Christmas and count down 12 days to Easter and do an egg a day. I love traditions, especially ones that teach the real meaning of such important holidays!

On Easter Sunday, we went to celebrate at our church. We had a wonderful service. Here we are in front of the living cross.
After church, Bennett fell asleep on the way home. He was so tired. We went to Granddaddy's and ate Easter Lunch and then played outside for a bit. Here is our handsome boy in his Easter outfit!
We changed clothes and went to my mama's so Bennett could see what the Easter Bunny left him there. He got a set of new golf clubs. These were necessary because the ones Warren gave him for his birthday were DONE. Bennett has used them and broken them... mostly by hitting everything EXCEPT a golf ball. :)
Daddy helping B with his swing. I love this picture of my guys!
Doesn't he look so grown up???
My precious boy!
That's all for now. Stay tuned for an 18 month update!
