November Catch Up 2017

Our sweet boy and his K5 classmates performed for a Veteran's Day program at school. He had his first speaking part. We were so proud of him and his classmates!

This boy will always pose for a picture!

Bennett played his last Fall baseball game and got a trophy to add to his collection.

We did a little Christmas decorating mid-November because he couldn't wait to get his tree up in his room! We soon followed with Holden's tree. By the day after Thanksgiving, we were nearly decorated!

We went to Bingo night at Bennett's school. They had a blast. This was the first night Holden decided on his own he wanted to wear underwear. We were the bad parents that talked him out of it because we wanted to be close to home when he was in only underwear! Ha ha! This did spark his interest for potty training, though!

During our days at home, we practiced going to the potty. He was quite excited. Bennett even taught him how to potty off the back porch.

We decorated our playroom tree. It's my favorite because it's covered in homemade ornaments and keepsake ornaments.

The night before Thanksgiving, we met Abo at Las Cas for dinner. The boys adore him! I'm so thankful.

On Thanksgiving day, we had lunch with my daddy. I had no idea how quickly our lives would change after this picture was taken. He was so sick and we had no idea what was going on. Eight weeks later, nearly to the day this picture was taken, he was diagnosed with cancer. This is the last picture we all took together.

Thanksgiving night, we went for our annual dinner at Granddaddy's house. This boy and his faces crack me up.

There for awhile, he could hardly take a picture without his "kiss" face.

The day after Thanksgiving, we packed up to head for Bryson City. Santa had sent tickets to the Polar Express by way of Bo Jingles. We rented a cabin. It was Holden's first overnight trip anywhere other than a camper... and only Bennett's third. :) They loved this loft. There were two twin mattresses up there. I Lysoled and Clorox wiped everything in that cabin. Bless....

We went exploring downtown before our 8:00pm train ride.

We finally boarded the train and had so much fun! The boys enjoyed the cookies and hot chocolate.

The next morning, we set out for the Christmas Tree farm. We thought it would be neat to have a NC mountain Frazier Fir. We stopped at Waffle House to grab some breakfast.

When we got to the tree farm, we realized we weren't at the Tree Farm in Ward, SC anymore. Our 7' tree was priced at $95!!! To wrap it in burlap- to keep the needles from blowing off on the way home, was an additional $10! Oh well... memories were made and lessons learned. Ha ha! I did get some cute pictures, though!

We had so much fun on our little weekend trip to make some memories! We asked the boys what their favorite part of the trip was. Was it the train ride and hot chocolate?? Nope! The loft in the cabin featuring the twin mattresses covered in a shower curtain pee-pad turned out to be the highlight of the trip!
