January 2019 Catch Up

Our family was super excited about kicking off 2019. 2018 had been hard with the death of my daddy so I was ready for a fresh start in 2019 and looking forward to the arrival of baby Davis. Normally, I get comfortable and settle into the year and I don't love starting over. I don't enjoy the cold and bleak January days or how January always has 3,468 days in it.

We started out the new year with a little four wheeler riding.

And we had our anatomy scan for Baby Davis. We learned he was perfect in every way and healthy as he could be! What a little miracle!

Bennett made the website for his class. His teacher started a fundraiser for more flexible seating and it was fully funded. Here he is enjoying their class goodies!

2019 was also very exciting because Santa gave us a Disney cruise for Christmas. Santa didn't know when he first booked the cruise that I may be too pregnant according to Disney's fine print to sail in February. Luckily, we were able to change our sail dates and headed to Port Canaveral mid January.

Here we are at Five Guys enjoying supper before finding a hotel.

The boys LOVE a hotel. Here they are before crashing for the night.

The next morning we got up bright and early to finish the drive to the Port and get on the ship. I had to take a bump picture of Davis at 22 weeks.

The boys really had no idea what to expect. They were in total awe when we finally got our first glimpse of the ship.

We were all pretty amazed once we got on the actual ship. The attention to detail on a Disney cruise we would quickly find out FAR surpassed our expectations. We started out with a few pics and headed to one of the restaurants to eat some lunch. Who doesn't love a buffet???

Finally we were able to get to our room and get settled before it was time to set sail at 4:00pm. We headed out to the deck for the Sail Away party.

Someone was exhausted and slept through our orientation...

but he woke up before we set sail.

The boys fell in love with foosball. This table saw us many, many times.

After the Sail Away festivities, it was time to get changed for dinner. Here are these two crazies all ready to eat. Of course we have to take a serious pic... and a funny one.

Supper each night was so much fun. Not only did I not have to plan a meal and shop for it, prepare it, cook it, serve it or clean it up... the themes and restaurants were different each night. Our first night, we ate at Animator's Palate. It was a really neat restaurant and it was interactive, too.

There were so many Mickey bars consumed on our cruise. The boys got one every single night.

After dinner, we went to explore a bit and caught a show, The Golden Mickeys. Each show was SOOOO good. We all enjoyed them.

After the show, we went to play a little Bingo. It was digital Bingo and different than what we were expecting. We didn't win a thing and our $40 was spent very quickly but it was a fun time!

The boys couldn't decide who would sleep in this cool bunk so they both did. Here is the littlest lovebug ready to hit the hay.

The following morning, we woke up in the Bahamas.

Matching shirts for the win... not sure how much longer I can make this happen but....

Did I mentioned we had FAMILY matching shirts?? :) Jonathan was a good sport.

The water was so clear... and much nicer than Dirty Myrtle.

We got off the ship to go explore... but of course we had to take a few pictures to document our adventures.

We walked around for a bit and I will admit, I was a little nervous. I watch a little too much Dateline and human trafficking and kidnapping were in the forefront of my mind... especially when we agreed to ride this very sketchy horse and buggy for a tour. It was all Holden wanted to do and for $20 I was a little worried we'd never be seen again.  But... off we went...

We got back on the ship after my nerves couldn't take anymore. We got ready for Pirate Night on the ship... another baby bump picture of Davis's first cruise :)

Our second night, we ate at the Enchanted Gardens. It was really neat. Check out these cute pirates.

The boys loved to see what animal we would have in our room each night... and loved that our room was clean and beds ready for them each night. I'll admit, turn down service, a clean room, no dishes to clean or meals to cook had me pretty spoiled. This Disney cruise definitely spoke my love language.

We came back to the room to change clothes and get ready for Pirate night on the deck. Eek Eek, Holden's monkey, had to go too.

The next morning, we arrived in Castaway Cay, Disney's own private island.

The water was pretty (and cold) and the sand was perfect. The weather was a bit cool but the boys didn't care not one bit.

After playing in the sand and water for a bit, the boys wrapped up in their Mickey towels that Santa brought them and we headed over to Cookie's on the Island to eat some lunch.

We headed back to the ship just as it started to rain.

The pictures are a little out of order but on our day at sea, we spent time at the pool. Bennett did the AquaDuck see through water slide with Jonathan. Holden was not quite tall enough for that one so we stayed in the pool.

Both of them were able to do the other waterslide onboard though.

We ate LOTS of ice cream during our cruise...

On our final night, we ate at the Royal Palace. Our waiter and waitress were the same every night. The boys loved seeing their magic tricks.

After dinner and the show the final night, we shopped for some souvenirs. We left the Mickey hats at the store...

and ended up with Pirate swords.

The boys loved the Penguin!

The next morning, we bundled back up in our hoodies and long pants after several days of bathing suits and shorts. It was the BEST vacation. Holden still asks when we can go back on the Mickey Boat. Soon, baby boy, soon. :)

After we came home from a magical vacation, we had to do some grocery shopping. Holden got his first turn with Steph at the register scanning groceries.  Bennett used to love to do this same thing. I even did it when I was little!

We also celebrated our big boy and his award at 1st grade awards day.

We are very proud of him and his Reading Award.

On Wednesdays, we continued our weekly lunch at Garden Grille with Big Big, Jonathan, Dave, and Matthew. Holden decided to document the occasion with a few pics.

And another bump pic at 23 weeks. Baby Davis is growing and gives his mommy lots of heartburn and reflux!
