June flew by in the blink of an eye. Davis continued to grow like a weed and we were plowing through summer like crazy. This summer proved to be a little different than previous summers as we adjusted to life with a nursing newborn.
We still went to Sunday lunch every Sunday at Big Big's. Here is Davis with Uncle Bubba. He ADORES my boys.
We fit in time for learning. We can't have those skills getting rusty. :) I will be Holden's teacher in the fall so I am pretty excited about that. We both are!
Davis's umbilical cord fell off when he was almost two weeks old. He got to get a bath for the first time. Let's just say he was less than impressed with the first real bath.
Look at that sweet face!
He turned 2 weeks old on June 3rd. Not sure why this picture refused to do right!
Big brother continued to be obsessed with our newest family member.
Middle brother continued to adjust as well as could be expected. He has become a LOT spunkier since May 20... we will leave it at that.
Bennett decided to read Davis some stories to help them both earn their reading medal at the library for summer reading.
In typical Goff baby fashion, Davis's hairline began to recede.
He turned three weeks old on June 10th. Again, the picture....
And his hair continued to fall out!
We ventured out to Greenwood to check out the topiaries.
Baby brother got to play on the play mat for the first time. He had some help, of course!
His hair recession continued...
Around a few weeks old, Davis began to be pretty fussy during the afternoons. Afternoons weren't fun and there were lots of tears from both of us. He still wasn't a "Bennett" but it was rough, especially when I couldn't give the big boys the attention they wanted and deserved. One day, the boys went to the playroom and created some treasures for me... Bennett's was complete with grass clippings, pom poms and a note. Be still my heart.
I hope he is this thoughtful to his wife one day! He melts my heart with sweet, unexpected things like this!
There isn't much that is sweeter than a baby sleeping.
Bennett was invited to attend Art and Music Camp. He LOVED it again this year. Here he is with his lighthouse painting.
Davis was dedicated at church on Father's Day. It was a particularly hard day for me because the absence of my own daddy was very apparent to me yet didn't seem to be for the ones around me. Life went on for everyone else but mine changed forever and the day was very hard. It was a bittersweet day for sure because we got to dedicate Davis and he had his first Sunday at church. It was sad because my daddy would have been right there with us.
Davis wore Holden's dedication outfit. Another week or two and we wouldn't have gotten it buttoned :)
There sure are some great fathers in this picture. I am so thankful for each of them and especially grateful to spend the morning celebrating what God has done and will continue to do in the life of our sweet Davis.
We spend dedication/Father's Day at the pool.
Bennett and Holden are such great helpers. Bennett wanted to try his hand at changing a diaper.
This kid. He makes me shake my head daily either with what he does or what comes out of his mouth. He came over to me and I noticed he had dirt on his top lip... but it wouldn't wipe off. Upon further inspection, I figured out he had sucked his lip in the milk bottle from Subway. He essentially had a lip hickey. Did I mention that we had upcoming pictures three days from then??
I had a much needed girl's night with these sweet friends. We went to Augusta to see Jen Hatmaker and Heather Land. It was a BLAST and it was good to be "me" for a little bit.
We continued to spend afternoons poolside. Davis loves to be outside like Bennett.
Cute, cute, cute.
These two have such a special connection. They have become peers lately and Bennett doesn't see him as the "baby" anymore. They play together well most of the time... but let's be real. There is plenty of fighting and arguing too.
We had family pictures done to include Davis. She got a few good ones and I was surprised. Davis was a cranky mess. It was hot and the boys were itchy. I love the ones she managed to get though.
Sometime during the month of June, Davis started to LOVE bathtime. It's part of our nightly routine now. Nothing smells better than a clean baby!
Davis turned one month old on June 20th.
Sweet semi-baldheaded baby boy.
This picture is of Davis on the day he was born... and at one month old.
We had playdates with friends. The boys love Cameron and we are always so happy for him to come play. They played on the slip n slide.
and they painted Rocks.
This kid started smiling. We all hold our phones in his face hoping to capture one!
You never know what this one will do! He wanted to take his picture and only send it to Uncle Abo.
We went to the park to eat a picnic lunch from CFA and play a bit.
And we avoided the heat some days staying inside playing with SnapChat filters.
Happy boy! Time is flying so fast!!!
