So... its with lots of tears I finally accept the fact that my boy is no longer a baby. Three years old just sounds so big!!! When did this happen? My mama couldn't bear the thought of him actually going to school on his actual birthday so the two of them spent the morning together... he got totally spoiled! Jonathan and I met them for lunch at Nagoya. This was B's first experience watching the fire and the knife tricks. He was a little nervous about all that fire!
When we got ready to go, he TOTALLY melted down. Jonathan had to leave to go back to work and Bennett was NOT happy about it. He didn't understand why his daddy couldn't come home with us. Bless it.
In our usual birthday tradition, we celebrated Bennett's special day ON his birthday with our family and then had his big party the following Saturday. We let him pick out his own cake this year. His first pick??? A cake that looked like a banana. I carefully explained that I didn't think they actually made cakes to LOOK like bananas. He didn't really understand why. I love his crazy thoughts and ideas. They make me smile! So... here is his birthday cake NOT shaped like a banana.... Thomas was his second choice.
Here is my sweet boy enjoying his cake... check out the hat. An army helmet he scored at the Dollar Store with grandma.
Then it was time for presents. He LOVES these new boots from Gram and Papa G.
And a remote helicopter from Grandma and Granddaddy
And a trash truck from Big Big
And a go-cart from Mommy and Daddy
And a basketball goal from Big Big
He also got a new scooter from Grandma and Granddaddy along with knee and elbow pads.
B took me and Baby for a spin :)
We are so blessed that B has so many people who love him!!
On Friday, B woke up early and decided he needed to enjoy a little coffee on the couch. :)
On Saturday, we had Bennett's construction themed party. It was SO cold and windy but he had a blast!
He had a blast and it looked like Christmas morning when we unpacked all his gifts. We have got a lot of organizing to do before April!
On Sunday, it was warmer so we went to Grandma and Granddaddy's to play with his gift from BoBo... a pitching machine. :)
On Monday, he pulled out all his painting supplies from his party and had a little fun painting up a storm!
Oh, what a long way we have come! I can't believe this was three whole years ago and our first family picture together. God is so good and B was the perfect addition to our family. I have no idea what in the world we would do without him and we thank God for him everyday.
