February 2018 brought lots of changes. Doctors visits and appointments for daddy and hospital stays and the constant fear and worry occupied most of my days. I took the boys to the Shoals for a visit with daddy to boost his spirits. This was the last pic I got of them together.
My sweet intuitive boy knew I was struggling. He and Holden picked me some flowers and made me a paper Christmas tree to lift my spirits.
We had a few warm days so they played outside some too. They are at a fun age where they interact so much more and are becoming best friends! It's been so fun to watch their relationship change and develop.
Holden got to celebrate his first Valentine's Party at school. Here he is with his valentine's bag.
They loved sorting through their Valentine's loot from school.
We spent our days enjoying the good. We made some dirt cake with worms. H wasn't so sure about this at first.
Timehop brought so many reminders of how quickly life can change. Each day we saw Daddy getting weaker and weaker from his disease. It was truly heartbreaking to watch the sudden decline in his health. This picture was taken in 2016 when he went to Arkansas to get his life back.
We enjoyed four wheeler rides through the woods on pretty days.
Cody even came to ride. The boys were thrilled!
Many of my days were spent with daddy in the hospital. I took a day to take the boys to the zoo and just have a day together. We had so much fun!
Bennett decided Holden needed some light up shoes so he made him some :)
The middle to end of February was hard. Daddy continued to decline and doctors were mystified. After a 12 hour stay at home, he had to go back to the hospital. He was misdiagnosed with CHF and blood clots. The doctors finally decided the cancer had probably spread to his lungs but that trying to do invasive testing would kill him as he was so sick. We spent so much time INTENTIONALLY soaking up each other and talking when he was awake and just being together. It was so hard emotionally to go back and forth to Greenville and still be with my babies. I was so torn but had a great village helping me with daddy and with my babies.
I love this picture of daddy and Abby. He loved this little dog and looked so good in this picture.
At the end of February, Bennett set a future career goal, to be an engineer so he can drive a fork lift :)
