January 2018 started out with a visit from the toothfairy. We were in the midst of flu season so before we met Jonathan to go eat a Fuji Express, I told the boys NOT to touch anything. Well, leaving the restaurant, I see B picking up something out of the parking lot. It was his tooth! Tooth #7 LITERALLY fell out of his mouth!
We had a surprising snow day. The boys loved it and we made the most of what little snow we had.
Clearly cabin fever took a toll on this one. He was an Iron Man Pirate :)
January 2018 also brought one of the worst sicknesses to date... Hand Foot and Mouth. It started with a fever and snotty nose...
and continued to make this baby miserable as his hands, feet, and the inside of his entire mouth break out. He was so pitiful and out of school for a week. His sidekick, Wilson, caught it too so Kayla and I took turns taking days off to take care of them until the virus ran its course.
We got to go to school to celebrate this kid! He is part of the Greenwood Promise and won the Computer Ninja Award!
The graduating class of 2030!
I took a turn watching these wild things. Even though they clearly felt better, they were still contagious and couldn't go to school. They didn't mind and enjoyed their week of playdates.
January ended with heartbreak. On January 24, my daddy fell and called an ambulance which transported him to the hospital. After many days of tests and procedures, we found out on January 27th that he had advanced metastatic Gastric cancer. He was retired and supposed to be enjoying retirement and getting his new hip in February. We were devastated but we knew God was still good.
