Hello 2015!

This is the year of Baby Holden! I can't believe that we will be welcoming our sweet addition in THREE short months! That being said, we have been movin' and groovin' at our house. My sweet hubby has been off since Christmas Eve. The day after Christmas, we transitioned Bennett's room to a BIG BOY room and we haven't slowed down since. My granddaddy bought me new cabinets for Christmas so Jonathan installed those in our kitchen. We tore apart and cleaned out the guest room to begin painting for Baby Holden. Whew! That has been a job. In the midst of all that, we have had to take down all of our Christmas décor. Needless to say, our house is a WRECK and it's tearing my nerves up. We have been trashing stuff, organizing in bins, cleaning out, and donating things. I can't believe we have this much STUFF. It was so easy to feel that the house was "clean" when I couldn't see all the clutter hidden in closets and under the guest room bed and in the guest room dressers! :) Once we got the room cleared, we started priming. B jumped right on in and did a pretty good job. He LOVES to help and can't wait to start on the "brown".

On New Year's Eve, we had a pretty low-key evening, which was nice since we have been working so hard! We had breakfast for supper. After supper, we heard our neighbors shooting fireworks. B and I bundled up in a blanket to sit in our yard to watch. A few minutes later, Jonathan came out to suggest going to town to buy our own. B was excited about that! We went to town and B nearly fell asleep. It was only 7:00! Once we got home though, he woke right on up and LOVED shooting the fireworks!

Mommy and B.. and the headlight. Jonathan has one so B has to have one too!

For New Year's Day, we slept in until about 8:40am. Jonathan shot a doe so he and B headed to process it. B stayed with Jonathan's mama since B is going through his "deer" phase right now, I was worried how he would react and process an actual deer being chopped up. I think he is a bit to young for that. They came back home and we went to eat lunch at my Granddaddy's as is our New Year's tradition. B and I ate peas and pork... no collards for us. :) We then came home and just hung out. It was super lazy but I wouldn't have had it any other way.

2014 brought some grief with the death of my precious Unc, and my cousin Bobby and also my Nanny and La's diagnosis of cancer. In the midst of sadness though, there was SO MUCH JOY. God is good in all things. We were never promised a life without sadness and suffering... but HOPE that through it all, HE is in control. Here's to a GREAT 2015!
